Leather Cleaning Newcastle, Sunderland, South Shields
The use of leather in the manufacture of suites and chairs has been popular for generations, largely due to its appeal as a natural material, its texture, robustness and almost infinite range of colours and hues.
The cleaning technician must be aware of these classifications and finishes and needs to be able to identify leathers to avoid costly mistakes and achieve the best results. Cleaning methods must be matched to the leather type.
I have been trained in these all areas by one of the leading training providers in the country based in Harrogate.
Combined with the correct selection of cleaning method, the use of quality shampoos, stain removers, finish sprays and deodorisers will also help to achieve the high levels of cleanliness required.
The three main classifications for leather are Protected, Aniline dyed and Nubuck and within these classifications there is a range and variety of finishes applied to the leather.
After cleaning I apply a coating of ‘leather protect’ which helps to repel dirt and stains making it easier for regular cleaning.
Repairs and restoration
Tears, cuts, cat scratches, cigarette burns and other minor accidental damage can be repaired.
Faded colours can be recoloured and revitalised over the affected area or a whole cushion if required.
